RAGUNATH KESAVAN
Graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bsc(Genetics) in 1985.
Graduated from the University of Wales Aberystwyth with LLB(Hon) in 1989.
Graduated from the University of Malaya with LLM in 1995.

He is a member of Gray’s Inn and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1990.

Admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1991. Elected as Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee from 2002-2004.

Elected as President of the Malaysian Bar from 2009-2011.
During his tenure as the President of the Malaysian Bar, he served as a member of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board and the Legal Professional Qualifying Board.

He was Chairman of the Professional Indemnity Insurance Committee from 2003 to 2016. Ragunath Kesavan was instrumental in the setting up of the National Legal Aid Foundation.

He was appointed to the Malaysia Competition Commission in 2011 and reappointed again to serve in the Commission in 2014.

He was an active member of the Commission and served as the Chairman of the Guidelines Committee, Enforcement Committee and the Audit Committee.

Ragunath Kesavan is a member of the panel of Arbitrators and Adjudicators of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre of Arbitration.

He was appointed to the Board of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia in August 2019.

He is also a member of the Legal Secretarial Regulatory and Development Committee of the Malaysian Aviation Commission.

Ragunath Kesavan is a member of the panel of Arbitrators and Adjudicators of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Center of Arbitration.

A member of the Panel of Adjudications under the Construction Industry Payment & Adjudication Act 2012.

As a member of the Malaysia Competition Commission, Ragunath Kesavan has chaired the enforcement, Legal and regulatory and Guidelines Sub Committees.

He Chaired the committee on Guidelines and Enforcement and was involved in the drafting, finalising and public consultation on the following Guidelines:

(i) Guidelines on Market Definitions;
(ii) Guidelines on Anti-Competitive Agreement;
(iii) Guidelines on Abuse of Dominant Position;
(iv) Guidelines on Financial Penalties; and
(v) Guidelines on Leniency Regime.

Ragunath Kesavan has extensive dispute resolution experience and regularly appears at all levels of the Malaysian courts and he also appears as counsel and arbitrator in arbitrations and acts as an adjudicator.

NATRA ADIBAH NUBLI
Graduated from the Universiti of Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with a LLB (Hons) degree in 2016 and commenced her pupillage in one of the leading law firms in family law.

She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in May 2017.

Has experience in handling files from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) ranging from non-rechargeable job order (RJO) claims, land dispute matters, injunctions, and trespass issues on TNB’s land.

Area of practice also includes dispute resolution in corporate and commercial law, maritime law, probate and administration, family law and executionary proceedings.

TAI YONG FUNG
Graduated from University of Adelaide, Australia with LLB (Hons) in 2014. Completed Certificate of Legal Practice (“CLP”) with 2nd class lower honours in 2016.

Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2017.

Commenced practice at Messrs. Shook Lin & Bok’s banking litigation department from October 2017 until April 2020 prior to joining Messrs. Kesavan.

Obtained Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance from INCEIF (International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance) in June 2020.

Area of practice include alternative dispute resolution, defamation, dispute resolution in corporate and commercial law, execution proceedings including bankruptcy and winding up proceedings.

JOSHUA TAN JO-VEN

Graduated from University of Hull with an LLB (Hons) with Second Class Upper in the year 2016. Completed Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) with Second Class Lower in the year 2017.

From November 2017 to August 2018, he read in the chambers of Ms. Pauline Khor at Messrs. Rahmat Lim & Partners under the Intellectual Property Department.

In October 2018, he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaya.

From January 2019 to October 2021, he commenced practice at Messrs. Kee Sern, Siu & Huey under the Dispute Resolution Department.

His areas of practice include corporate and commercial disputes, disputes involving insolvency matters, defamation, fraudulent trading, land disputes and debt recovery.

SHOBAN NAIR GOBI
Graduated from University of Liverpool with an LLB (Hons) in 2018 with Second Class Upper and completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2019.

He then chambered under the tutelage of Mr.Ragunath Kesavan from March 2020 to December 2020 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in February 2021.

In March 2021, he commenced practice at Messrs. Kesavan.
